Field Trip to the Farm

Rebekah's first grade class went on a field trip like none other yesterday! :) We went to a farm south of South Bend. It was a very interactive farm. The lady who showed the kids around was great. She encouraged the kids to be as hands on as possible. It was so fun to watch the kids have a ball.

During the week the kids had collected scraps for the chickens to eat when we got there. This was so fun for them. It was a process of collecting and then seeing the final result.









This peacock was very cool. It was so big and so pretty.











Bekah loved the baby goats the best. She couldn't wait to hold one. The "little mama" came out. :) She is a nurturer and loves little babies of any kind. I love that about her.









How in the world does a peacock decide to get on the top of a van? :) This was so funny. The kids thought it was absolutely hilarious! :) It was more fun to listen to the kids than to see it on the van. It was a fun addition to the day.








We went on a walk through the woods ... I love the woods! We came up on a fallen tree that was made into a play area for kids, by kids. So fun! Later the kids were allowed to walk on a log across the water!! What mothers in their right minds would allow that? Us!! lol. They had a ball! One of the boys was so adventurous that he fell in not once, but twice! Oh my goodness, I wonder what his mom said when she picked him up at school. We got back to the school and most of the kids were barefoot the rest of the day because they didn't have another pair of shoes to change into.
