Friday night Bekah and I spent the evening with her best friend Nicole and her mom, my friend, Leann. It was a fun night of simply being girls. The girls planned the evening for us. We went putt-putting, dinner and dessert at Culvers, played at the Potawatomi park and then to Nicole's house to play some more. Nicole and Bekah had been asking to have this playdate for weeks on end. They were so excited and had so much fun!
On Saturday we (Clint and I and the kids) spent the day doing mulch and more mulch. We spread 5 yards of mulch around the house and some additional landscaping. All the kids helped, which was wonderful. They did a great job! We were going to reward them with a bikeride at a park but we were all too tired to even think about riding a bike. :) We had ice cream and a movie instead.
On Sunday morning Clint was ordaned as a pastor. I guess this makes it official. :) He's been pastoring for almost two years now. Some days it seems longer than that and sometimes shorter. It's been quite a ride as a family in ministry. Many times it's a challenge but many times it comes with rewards to remind us of why he is a pastor and I agreed to the call to ministry. The rewards make it worth it. It's certainly a calling to specific people. At times I wonder why God would choose us... we're certainly not the typical pastors family! How many stepfamilies do you know who are in this kind of ministry? We have issues, but God is so faithful in covering us with His grace and love!!
On Monday, Memorial Day, Clint and Bekah were in the parade. It was fun for them to do this together with Bekah's softball team.
