Thanksgiving

Our Thanksgiving was really good this year. We celebrated THREE times! On Saturday the 21st we had my family over for the "big meal". On Sunday we spent the day with Clint's family.

THEN on Wednesday night Jeff, Wendy, Matthew and Sarah came in from Pittsburgh. I love it that we are able to have them come here for a few days with them being able to spend all their time here with us. Having John's family here is so good. It was an adjustment, again, to not have Ron & Betsy with us again this year. I'm guessing that they had the best Thanksgiving meal ever! I'm sure the Creator of the Universe is a better cook than I am. :)

The kids love having their cousins, Matthew and Sarah, with us! I believe the kids feel a connection with each other like never before ... none like they would ever want to have. They've all experienced so much loss in their short lives. John, PopPop & Grandmom (Ron & Betsy) were a huge part of their lives on this earth! We, the adults, see pieces of their lives that they left on the kids.

The reality of it all came when I was asked by one of the kids what would happen to them if Clint and I died! It was comforting to know that I had an answer that was the truth. We do have plans in place for them but our hope is to not have to follow through on those plans. WE want to raise our children! It made my heart sad to hear this question. To know that this is the reality of my kid's hearts and minds is sad for me. At the same time I know that the reality of the loss in the kid's lives has been used to bring them into a relationship with Jesus and encouraging them to grow in Him. I love that! :)
