The past week has been good. Last Wednesday we, as a family, went to see Fee in Goshen. It was honestly one of the best concerts I've been to in a long time. It was pretty much and hour and a half of amazing worship of the God of the Universe! It was a memorable night for Clint and I. It was the first night of being able to truly worship with our kids in this kind of setting. This was the night that Ben learned how to worship!! It made me cry! He said to me, "Mom, I felt like I wanted to raise my hands but I was scared but I did it anyway". I'm so proud of him!! John Michael was worshipping while videotaping on his camera. :) I love that! ... multi-tasking. :)
After the concert we met the Fee guys and got signatures. The guys are a lot of fun.
Last weekend we had Pastor Solomon stay with us for the weekend. Pastor Solomon is from Uganda. He pastors a church and oversees 40+ other churches, plus has a school of 400+ children and other businesses. He is an amazing man of godly integrity! Clint met Pastor Solomon last year while travelling to Sudan. When he travels to Sudan he has to fly through Uganda and stay overnight. Pastor Solomon is the one who picks him up at the airport and takes him to the hotel and then takes him back to the airport the next day. On the way back home to the states he travels through Uganda again but this time it's a few days in Uganda. This time is spent with Pastor Solomon and visiting his church. Pastor Solomon has been in the US for a 4 week stay and asked to stay with us for a few days while he's here. It was so great for Clint to get to spend more time with him and get to know him much better and hear his heart. God has great things in store for that relationship!
We took him to the Jimtown High School semi-state football game in West Lafayette on Friday night. This was a completely new experience for him and he enjoyed it. This was a first for him to get bundled up like this and wanted a picture of him with a blanket, gloves and a hat. :) It doesn't get colder than 60 degrees in Uganda and he made it clear that he doesn't like cold or snow. :)
This was a great game for Pastor Solomon to go to. Even though Jimtown lost in the end it was a really good game. He seemed to catch onto the game quickly. He asked questions and seemed to understand. It was funny to have him ask questions the next day ... he had been thinking and processing this game for a long time. :)
On Saturday night we had a family game night. This was a blast with Pastor Solomon! (He speaks English very well which made it so much easier to spend time with him.) The kids taught us how to play Kemps, which required a partner. Ben was his partner the first game and Bekah the second game. Ben loves new people and had a great time being partner with Pastor Solomon, but for Bekah it was a stretch. She did well and in the end they won! This was so fun for them!! :)
