Since we don’t get to spend Valentine’s Day together, here’s
my attempt at honoring you on this Love Day. J
You and I have been together for over 10 years now. It’s
hard to believe it’s been this long already. Some days it seems as though I’ve
known you all my life and other days, not so much. The moment I met you I knew
that I would be with you for a long time. I knew that you were the one I was to
marry. It felt like a crazy thought at the time but I also knew that it was
God.
God has brought us a long way in our relationship. We’ve
both been through a lot of rough spots in our lives and those rough spots have
brought challenges to our relationship. They have also shaped us and molded us
to be who we are today. With persistence and the hope of Christ we are becoming
more of who Jesus is… I hope. J
We have had to fight for our marriage.
We’ve had to stay true to our commitment to God and to each
other.
We’ve had to do a lot of apologizing and asking for
forgiveness.
We’ve had to work through grief; inviting Jesus to heal our
hearts.
We’ve also laughed a lot, experienced lots of fun times
together.
We’ve cried a lot, allowing cleansing to happen.
God has done an immense amount of work in our marriage and
our family. He’s done a lot of healing in hearts and relationships.
You are my hero! You have stuck with me through thick and
thin. Good times and bad. Through sickness and health. You have stayed with me
when I tried to push you away. You have determined and been persistent in
loving me and respecting me as your wife and best friend.
YOU are my best friend. We have come a long way Babe! We
have fought the good fight and we are coming out on top. Our family is coming
out on top.
I love spending time with you. I miss you when we’re not
together for days. You are the one I want to share my life with. You are the
one I want to process my issues, conversations, and situations with.
We have experienced so much life TOGETHER in 10 short years.
We have walked the beach.
We have hiked many trails.
We have canoed for miles in God’s country.
We have ridden crazy roller coaster rides with laughter and
screams.
We have been on long road trips.
We have even spent hours in deer stands.
We have travelled the world.
We have loved on people on the other side of the world and fallen
in love with them.
We have ministered to others and each other.
We have laughed and we have cried.
We have prayed and pursued God with all we have and are.
We have loved and respected like never before.
We have learned to appreciate the little things.
We have watched and experienced the hand of God in our
lives.
We have seen and felt the Holy Spirit move in and among us.
We have held tight to the truth of His Word.
We have trusted and clung to Jesus, even when we didn’t
understand what he was doing.
With God’s help, you have taught me how to love and respect
you like you deserve. You are a man of great integrity and high moral character. Honoring God and others
is a high priority for you. Nothing is more important to you than your relationship
with the God of the universe. I appreciate that about you. I’m grateful that I
am second in your life, behind our Creator. Because of how you live that out, I
can’t help but respect and appreciate you and how you lead our family. Thank
you for honoring your relationship with God first.
Thank you for loving me without condition.
Thank you for
respecting me.
Thank you for believing in me like no one else.
I love doing life with you, Clinton Lester Schwartz, the man
of my dreams!! I would choose you all over again! I want to grow old with you
and live out the dreams that God has put in us with you.
Happy Valentine’s Day Babe! I love you!
