This past weekend was the Midwest Conference Tournament in Huntington. Turnstone chose to play in the Varsity B division this time so the team could win some games. This season has been really hard with being the underdogs at pretty much every tournament so far. We are a very young team with freshmen and sophmores and even a seventh and eighth grader. All of the teams that we've been playing in the Varsity A division are upper classmen with much more experience than we have. With it being such a tough season, the team really needed a boost in their moral by winning some games.

In the Midwest Conference Tournament, Turnstone won all 6 games played on Saturday and Sunday. I do have to say that it was fun to see them win and be excited about playing the game.
Coach Bob has chosen to continue playing in the Varsity A division so that the team is challenged to get better and to play harder. This past weekend was full of "easy" games and I could see that the team wasn't playing as hard as they would've if the opposing team would've been challenging them more. I'm glad they got the opportunity to win but now it's time to be challenged again. Playing the tough teams will help them play to their potential and will help them in the future. It's all about being challenged and becoming better.
Turnstone did win the championship game, which was fun.

John Michael played his heart out all weekend. He was the high scorer in each game. In the championship game he had 17 out of the teams 46 points. I'm so proud of how much effort he puts into the game. In my opinion John Michael was the men's MVP of the game. (Is he really old enough to be in the "men's" category?!) I'm not saying that because he's my son,
he really is that good and a real asset to the team.
