Strawberry Jam!

Today my mom, the kids and I made 70 pints of fresh homemade strawberry jam. I picked up 3 cases of strawberries and the kids and I cut the stems off. Each of them took turns in mashing the strawberries too. Mom and I had great helpers! John Michael, Ben and Bekah were great sports about helping and didn't even eat one strawberry. I was the one eating them! :)

It was quite a morning of making the jam. Once Mom and I got into a routine and a good system going it went pretty fast. We were finished hours before we expected to be finished with it all, which was so satisfying.

We now have 70 pints for all the family to enjoy. I brought some home for our freezer. Everyone in the family is welcome to take home whatever they want to use. What we did today should last about 2 years ... hopefully. :) My family really likes homemade strawberry jam!! It's always on the table when we get together.




The day wasn't complete without holding little Porsche, Sissa's puppy. She's so sweet.
