Landscaping

Our friend Steve recently bought a foreclosure home and the landscaping needs a lot of help. He asked me to do it for him ... with pay of course. :) I enjoy gardening/landscaping so this is a good project for me. The problem, he would like the pool side of the house finished before July 4th as he will have his family there that weekend. There is a lot of work to be done even after already having done a lot of work. Most of the project is pulling plants and replacing them with new ones or replanting some where they will look better and grow better. It's fun for me because he's pretty much given me free-reign, even though I always run my ideas by him, and I get to be creative. He just wants it to look good. :)

These photos were taken after having dug out a lot of the hostas already. Hostas anyone??? They're beautiful plants but they're way too much for the space that they're in. I've divided them up and am selling them now. I have 45+ plants from 4 large plants! I'm finding that I'm not as young as I used to be. :) I was exhausted after working with the hostas.
I also found some garden tea in the landscaping! I had been wanting some to put in my garden so I was very excited to find it. Steve said that I could take some to put in my garden! So excited about that! :)

These two areas are looking better after having done A LOT of work already but need so much more work done. I will post photos after it's all finished. It may be a couple weeks. :)

He also has a beautiful pool that we agreed to help take care of. He doesn't care to swim but enjoys having family and friends over, so the pool is open to us whenever we want to use it. It's like having our own private pool when he's at work during the day. :) We've been there a lot already. The water is still too cold for me but the kids are loving it. The kids usually swim while I work on the landscaping.
When Steve bought the house the pool was very disgusting with dirt and algae. It needed to be emptied, cleaned and refilled. It was quite a process.

Yeah, I know, no kids. I haven't gotten good photos of them in the pool yet.
