Stay on the Wet Sand

Each Thursday morning at 7am some of get together to pray for the Millennial generation. God shows up every single time in some pretty amazing ways. Every. Single. Time. He has never not showed up. We have always walked away saying, “Wow, that was really great”. This morning was no exception.

This morning God gave one of us a picture of a beach where the water is going in and out. The movement of the ocean waves creates the more solid wet sand apart from the loose sand. Can you picture it? As we were praying the Lord brought more to this picture to us. Jesus is standing on the line of the wet and the dry, loose sand. He is facing the water. He is watching over the movement of the waves. In the water are two people; one is standing in the water and one is lying in the water. As the water is washing over the two people they are sinking into the sand. You know how that works if you’ve stood in the water on the beach before. As the water moves over you, your body or feet sink deeper into the sand beneath you.

Here’s the point of the picture:
When we let the love of the Father wash over us it allows us to sink deeper into the foundation of who he is. He, the God of the Universe, is LOVE. It is to our benefit to let Him wash his love over us and to let it become a part of who we are.

When we allow his love to wash over us and to let our feet sink into the foundation of his love, it gives us freedom to get up and run on the wet sand with him.
The wet sand is where his love has been.
It’s where his love has moved.
It’s where we can see the footprints clearly.
It’s so much easier to run on the wet sand than the soft loose sand where the rest of the world is.

If standing or laying in the waves isn’t enough for you, jump in! Play in it. Swim in it. Enjoy the love of the Father. Have fun with it. Laugh and play with the Father. It’s a gift. Enjoy it.

When we stay on the solid foundation of where the Father is, we are more free to be who we are in Him and to be more free to move with Him. It is to our benefit to
sit with Him,
stand with Him,
lay in the water with Him,
play with Him,
and to let his love wash over us.
Let it soak it into our souls. Let it become a part of who we are.

Here's another thought for you: The sand castles are built by the wet sand. The castle cannot be built with loose sand. It would only fall apart and basically not exist. We need the foundation of the love of the Father in order to build our lives well. We can only grow with His love having washed over us. Otherwise we fall apart. Our lives can be beautiful with the wetness of His love.

Stay away from the loose sand. It looks pretty and appealing but it’s exhausting to walk through it. It’s so much harder to move in the loose sand. It's a bit of a workout, right? You remember what it’s like when you’re on the beach and you finally get to the wet sand by the water and you’re relieved to be there? It’s refreshing. It’s freeing. It’s because the love of the Father is moving there.

Why would we want to walk or run outside of the love of Christ when we can run in the freedom of his love?
