BSF (Bible Study Fellowship)

A few years ago a friend convinced me to go to a bible study called Bible Study Fellowship. I agreed just because I didn't have any excuse not to go. It was a great decision. I ended up going every Tuesday morning (during the school year) for 3 years. I went through studies of Romans, Genesis and Matthew. They were great studies.

While finishing up the last study, Matthew, I was getting pretty burnt out and needing a break of daily study. I was also in a place in my life where I couldn't put another thing on my plate mentally. I was in a place of God taking me through some pretty deep healing too. I was having to focus on myself being healthy emotionally for my marriage and my kids. I'm so glad I did!

So this summer I considering going back to BSF then was told that this year's study will be Isaiah. I've always been intrigued with this book of the bible. My favorite chapter of the bible is Isaiah 40. (Take time to read it sometime.) It's pretty powerful. Anyway, so I decided to go back to BSF this year because of the study of Isaiah. I am in a place in my life where I NEED it. God has brought me to a place of being hungry for another intense study of His Word.

This morning was the first day of BSF. As I walked in I felt this sense of relief. It felt so good to be there again. Being greeted by friend after friend who were excited to see me back was an added bonus. :) It was great to see some of the same ladies that I had done other studies with in the past. These are ladies who were excited to be there to hear, learn and soak in the Word along side me.

Isaiah is a brand new study for BSF. For 50 years they have rotated between 7 bible studies. So, many ladies would go for 7 years and then graduate. Because of this there were so many ladies coming back after not going for years. I talked to one lady who hadn't been to BSF for 28 years after going through the 7 original studies but because of the new study of Isaiah she came back!

Who is Isaiah?
He was a prophet.
He was a man of great character, faith & commitment.
He hated sin.
He was a gifted poet.
He was a man of constant hope.

I can't wait to learn from this man Isaiah ... I don't think I've ever looked forward to BSF like am today ...
